Backlash

At the same time, there is a growing backlash against the distribution methods used. Huge quantities of petroleum products are consumed to process and distribute filtered water in bulk (Canada Springs trucks), and to produce, distribute and dispose of billions of plastic water bottles. Major cities in the US in an effort to stem the tide have banned the sale water in plastic bottles in city buildings (San Francisco and New York City).
